The Next Steps After Putting a Home Under Agreement
- Contact a building inspector and set a date for the inspection, including an other tests such as radon air, water, sewer or pests
- Contact your lender in order to get the loan process under way
- Appraisal will be ordered and scheduled by the bank
- Decide on a lawyer to help with the title work and closing process
- Review the building inspection and test results to be sure they are satisfactory

- START PACKING!
- Once the appraisal comes back from the bank we will schedule a closing time and the banks/lawyers will prepare the final paperwork
- Contact any and all utility companies during this time to start service at your new home on the day of closing. Include electric, cable/satellite, telephone, water, internet service and gas/oil fuel service.
- HUD Statement or Closing Statement from the lawyers will usually arrive 24-48 hourse prior to the closing. It will outline every cost to you as a buyer and calculate the amount you will need to bring to closing in a certified/bank check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS!
- Closing day! Closings typically take between 45-60 minutes
